Deukyoung Cha, PT, DPT
Deukyoung Cha, PT, DPT first attended Yonsei University in Korea. He graduated in 1996, majoring in Physical Therapy. That same year, he went to study Master of Business Administration at the University of Central Oklahoma. After passing the national board for his physical therapy license in 1998, he moved to New York.
Dr. Cha has worked at Northern Rehabilitation Medicine as a head physical therapist for four years, treating various types of orthopedic conditions. He entered Stony Brook University to enhance his knowledge and expertise in physical therapy, and earned his Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy in 2005. He has worked in different clinical settings including an acute care & inpatient hospital, a hospital-based outpatient clinic, the NYC Department of Education, and outpatient physical therapy clinics in private practice setting.
Dr. Cha has gained expertise and excellence in orthopedic manual therapy through in depth training in specialty coursework and by working as the clinical director at Best Physical Therapy. With over 25 years of professional experience and the dedication to pursue the highest level of master he can, Dr. Cha takes his work with his clients at CHA Physical Therapy as both an opportunity to provide the highest level of care possible and an opportunity to learn and improve in order to enhance his knowledge and skills even further.
Dr. Cha sees the human body as a micro-universe. His treatment focuses to first normalize movement, then to optimize breathing and posture. Dr. Cha is an avid hiker, climber, and cyclist. He is also an active practitioner of the traditional Korean martial arts of Kuksun-Do and Gicheon. He is a loving father and husband, and enjoys spending time with his family.
Dr. Cha has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 2003, and dedicates his expertise towards teaching physical therapy students in a clinical setting as an APTA credentialed Clinical Instructor.
Mansoo Kim, DPT is the clinical director of CHA PHYSICAL THERAPY P.C. II. located in Chinatown, New York City, Since May of 2019. He graduated from Yong-In University in South Korea in 2004, majoring in Physical Therapy. He has worked in Bobath Memorial Hospital Bundang, Korea for 4 years as a physical therapist. To further challenges and broaden opportunities, He came to the U.S. He acquired his doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2012 at Dominican College in NY.
Dr. Kim is a dedicated health care provider who is passionate about his knowledge and expertise in rehabilitation. He is skilled in planning, organizing, and directing programs for the care of each individual who is disabled by injury, accident, or suffering from physical challenges.
Dr. Kim has always wanted to add more tools to his toolbox to expand his knowledge base and scope of practice. As a result, he became a licensed acupuncturist. Dr. Kim stated “I grew up in South Korea where acupuncture and herbs are the first methods to treat acute conditions. Now, I practice an “East meets West” two method system and I have seen a synergetic effect for better results.”
Dr. Kim implements a combination of different techniques to care for his patients such as trigger point acupuncture, cupping, tuina, manual therapy, joint mobilization, and therapeutic exercise. With his background in Physical Therapy, his treatments go way beyond a standard acupuncture visit giving you “the best of both worlds”. That being said, patients who are seeking traditional acupuncture will get exactly what they desire.
Dr. Kim specializes in Neuromuscular conditions and Orthopedic conditions such as post-stroke rehabilitation, pre-and post-surgical condition as well as treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders and sports injuries.
Yunie Cho, PT, DPT is a pelvic health physical therapist specializing in the treatment of female pelvic dysfunction and wellness. She received a Bachelor's degree from the school of physical therapy in 2015 and later achieved a Master's degree in 2018 from Sahmyook University Graduate School in Seoul. She went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Montana University in 2021.
Dr. Cho has experience in a variety of orthopedic cases such spine and joint dysfunction, post-operation, and sports injury rehabilitation. With her focus on women's pelvic health, she frequently pursues continuing education by learning from specialists across the country and taking specialty courses in incontinence, pelvic pain, pre-natal and postpartum, and pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse.
Dr.Cho is done with the Basi Pilates instructor course and utilizes Pilates concepts when treating pelvic floor and orthopedic issues. By analyzing muscles and movement patterns, she creates personalized exercises and sequences accordingly to treat a patient's condition and symptoms.
Passionate and dedicated, her goal is to help patients regain maximal function. Dr. Cho treats patients with a commitment to fully understand her patient's difficulties and provide them with the best-individualized care.
